Settle
Release some of what your body is carrying. Choose the amount of time you have.
Step 1 of 8
Find a position where you don't have to hold yourself up. Let your shoulders drop.
You gave your body a little less to hold.
That is real.
Let go
An unsent note for something you are still carrying. This is not forgiveness, and it does not excuse what happened.
Nothing is saved, uploaded or sent.
Come down one notch first.

Feel your feet against the floor. Let your shoulders drop, then allow one slow exhale before you write.

You set it down for now. It does not have to be solved tonight.
Untangle
A short path for shame or guilt. You can take responsibility without turning yourself into the punishment.

If guilt is being used to pressure, threaten or control you, pause before contacting anyone. Come back to your body first.

About kū-on

A little quiet when you need it.

kū-on is a private set of short exercises for moments when anxiety, shame, anger, resentment, or overwhelm feels hard to hold. Breathe, ground, release tension, or take one small step through what is happening.

No accountNothing to maintainNothing to get right
For the moment you’re in

Begin wherever you are.

If you know what might help, go straight there. If you do not, choose what feels loudest and kū-on will offer one small place to start.

Use one exercise or stay a little longer. Everything after the first step is optional.

01

Right now

Choose what feels loudest and begin with a quick reset.

02

Breathe

Follow a simple rhythm when your body is running fast.

03

Ground

Bring your attention back to what is here around you.

04

Settle

Release some of the tension your body is carrying.

05

Let go

Put down what you are carrying in words that are never saved or sent.

06

Untangle

Work gently through shame or guilt without turning yourself into the punishment.

Why it exists

“I made kū-on for the moments when I needed help before I could explain what was wrong.”

A personal projectI wanted something I could open immediately, use without preparation, and leave without turning it into another obligation. The aim is deliberately small: help make the next few minutes feel more manageable.
What you can expect

Designed to ask very little of you.

Open and begin

No account or setup is required. You do not need to name the feeling perfectly before you start.

Private by default

What you enter is not saved, uploaded, or sent by kū-on. Your difficult moments remain yours.

No performance

No scores, streaks, or pressure to continue. Stopping after one breath is still using the app as intended.

空穏kū-on · roughly “koo-on”
The name

A name for openness and calm.

kū-on is a coined name, written symbolically as 空穏. It is not an established Japanese word. The characters were chosen for the ideas they hold here.

Sky, space, or emptiness
onCalm, gentle, or peaceful

Together, they point to the feeling behind the project: a little more room around whatever is happening.

Take only what helps

You do not have to solve everything right now.

Use one exercise, stay for a few minutes, or leave whenever you want.
